Happy Easter -- and yes, I still do cook

I just downloaded some photos from a recent trip and, to my surprise, found some photos of food in the camera!

Just for your information -- I do still cook. I'm just not blogging about it and, if truth be told, I've been in something of a slump as far as creativity and trying new recipes go.

But this is the (school) year where I have really learned to appreciate everything I've already mastered about cooking in France: throwing together quiches, soups, salads, and all sorts of other simple fare without ever really looking at a recipe.

Anyway, I'm not sure where, if anywhere, this blog is going but I did want to "chime" in and wish a Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it.

And Happy Easter to you, too.
(and I do read your other 2 blogs, my commenting has been abysmal, lately tho... time is so short these days - as you know ;-)))

No-recipe coooking is the best! For our Easter brunch, my husband and I made borracho beans and chicken enchiladas, and the only thing we used a recipe for was the tortilla dough! :)

Happy Easter to you!

Belated Happy Easter to you, too! I'm still living at my brother's house. It's been about a month, and while I love hanging out with them, I'm looking forward to having a kitchen of my own (in 2 weeks!) again. I miss cooking!

Nice to get a comment from you, Eleonora. I've pretty much dropped food blogging for now, but am reflecting on how to get back to it, perhaps through my other blog, La France Profonde.

I enjoy your posts! I'm brushing up on my French cooking, studying French too on (
They have a lot of food vocabulary there. It's cool to learn the cooking and language in tandem.

Would have been interesting to see the chicken cripy and cooked. But I can imagine... It must have been very nice. It is far too long ago for me that I cooked a whole chicken. Maybe this sunday will be the day...
